Durdle Door on The Jurassic Coast in Dorset

The Jurassic Coast is England’s only natural World Heritage Site, stretching all the way from Studland in Dorset to Exmouth in Devon. We recommend splitting this trip into two days to allow time to explore, from Studland to Weymouth and then from Weymouth to Lyme Regis. If you only have time for one day, just tell us what you would most like to see and we'll create an itinerary just for you.

Places of interest along the eastern stretch of coast include Old Harry Rocks at Studland, the pretty seaside town of Swanage, Corfe Castle, the ghost village of Tyneham, Lulworth Cove, iconic Durdle Door and lively Weymouth with its lovely harbour and magnificent Georgian esplanade.

To the west, you have the Fleet lagoon and Chesil bank, historic Abbotsbury, Burton Bradstock, artistic Bridport and West Bay (where Broadchurch was filmed), Charmouth and finally Lyme Regis, famous for its fossil hunting and Cobb which stretches 870 feet out into the sea to protect the harbour.
