Glorious Gardens

Visit some of England's best gardens around Dorset and its neighbouring counties

Minterne Gardens

Whether you are a seasoned horticulturist, a keen amateur or simply an armchair gardener, Dorset promises a wealth of horticultural delights. We can drive you to a single garden for the day or organize multi-garden day trips. Just over the border in Wiltshire is magnificent Stourhead which is a whole day in itself and is a must if you have the time.

We can also recommend gardens that participate in the National Gardens Scheme. These privately owned gardens open their doors to the public for limited periods for charity. The selection of gardens available will vary depending on your travel dates and we can advise on the best routes and drive you between each venue.

The gardens at Athelhampton House in Dorset
The cottage garden at Hardy's Cottage in Higher Bockhampton

In several villages around the county, local communities open their gardens to visitors once a year and this provides a peak behind the garden gate, revealing the diversity of today’s English garden, from small, modern courtyards to the extensive, landscaped gardens of enthusiastic plantsmen and women. The friendly owners are always happy to chat to their visitors and share their knowledge. Dates vary, so please do contact us to talk about availability during your trip.
